Running Knoppix

I was able to run Knoppix in GUI mode on my home pc. It was very slow to respond but I liked the interface. I am running Windows XP Pro, Processor x86 Family 6 Model 10 Stepping 0 AuthenticAMD ~1100 Mhz

I want to figure out why it is so slow to respond on my pc. I will post it here when/if I find out why and the resolution to the problem.

Trying out Knoppix and Ubuntu

In my Unix course one of the extra credit assignments is to do a lab using Knoppix. I completed the lab and found Knoppix to be easy to use.
I did not get it to run in GUI mode due to a hardware issue but I will keep trying. I have downloaded Ubuntu as well and plan to test it soon. I will post my experiences in using both of these OS's here once I have had time for some real testing.

What am I working on now?

I am currently taking an Introduction to Unix Course. It is very challenging but I love it. The course is giving me a better understanding of what I do at my current job. My plan is to enroll in a PHP course next which will complement the Unix course I am taking.
